Share to:

The Wincom 0.1000mm Counting Chamber (also known as a hemocytometer) is a precision laboratory instrument used for manual cell counting under a microscope. Manufactured by Wincom Company Ltd., this slide features an etched Improved Neubauer grid pattern with a standardized depth of exactly 0.1000 mm.

Key Specifications & Features
  • Chamber Depth: 0.1000 mm (creates a precise fluid volume above the grid).
  • Ruling Pattern: Improved Neubauer grid, typically \(1/400\ (0.0025)\text{ mm}^2\) small squares.
  • Material Options: Available in durable reusable clear glass or disposable medical plastics.
  • Core Applications: Manual blood cell counts (RBC/WBC), sperm density analysis, and cell culture viability checks.
Step-by-Step Operation
  1. Mounting: Clean the glass chamber and wipe down the specific thick counting coverslip with 70% ethanol. Press the coverslip firmly over the grid area until Newton’s refraction rings (rainbow patterns) appear.
  2. Loading: Use a micropipette to draw your mixed sample. Place the pipette tip at the edge of the coverslip and let capillary action naturally pull the liquid under. Do not overfill the side channels.
  3. Settling: Let the slide sit on the laboratory bench for 2 to 3 minutes so the cells sink flat onto the grid floor for easy focusing.
