Step-by-Step Operation Guide (Standard PHS Benchtop Series)
To operate a standard benchtop Wincom pH meter accurately, follow these steps:
  1. Power Initialization: Connect the instrument to its standard power source and switch the device ON to allow the electronic components to stabilize.
  2. Electrode Cleaning: Remove the composite glass electrode from its storage solution and rinse the tip thoroughly with deionized or distilled water. Blot dry gently with a lint-free tissue.
  3. Buffer Calibration: Immerse the electrode in standard calibration buffer solutions (typically pH 4.00, 7.00, or 10.00). Adjust the calibration knobs or execute the digital menu auto-calibration until the display accurately locks onto the buffer value.
  4. Sample Testing: Rinse the electrode again, submerge it into your liquid sample, and wait roughly 1 to 2 minutes until the numeric digital reading completely stabilizes. Record the final pH value alongside the measured temperature.
  5. Electrode Storage: Clean the tip post-measurement. Never store the probe in distilled water. Always submerge it back inside a protective cap filled with a 3 mol/L KCL storage solution to maintain the reference membrane functionality.
